“I have been in New Zealand for 20 years and have participated in most of the local Sri Lankan events. I got to hear this key note speech done by Amita Weerakoon who was a former president of USLA Auckland and I thought it was one of the best speeches I have heard in New Zealand.
Well researched facts with very timely recollection of colonialism and independence.
I got to know quite a bit of new facts about Rugby and Cricket.
He concluded the speech with a beautiful sentiment saying what is Sri Lanka.
As per the secretary of USLA this speech at The Independence Day Celebration was praised by many distinguished guests.
Everybody loves Cricket and this speech captured it all.
